On August 14, Campion College’s Centre for the Study of the Western Tradition welcomed Dr. Matthew Tan for a lecture titled “Scattered Home: Catholic Migrant Identity After Augustine, Bonaventure & Ratzinger.” Dr. Tan, Dean of Studies at Vianney College, shared insights from a decade-long research project that began at DePaul University, focusing on the theological dimensions of Catholic migrant identity.
Drawing on the works of Augustine of Hippo, Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI), and Saint Bonaventure, Dr. Tan explored how these thinkers have shaped the understanding of Catholic migrants’ experiences. A recording of Dr. Tan’s lecture is available below.
