Campion celebrates Matriculation in spite of wet weather

The heavy rain battering Sydney held off just long enough for Campion's Matriculation to take place last Monday.

The annual ceremony traditionally takes place at the front of the Toongabbie campus, where new students are robed in academic gowns and sign their names into Campion's Matriculation Book.

Campion president Dr Paul Morrissey welcomed each new student inducted into the Campion College community, speaking to them about the importance of seeking Truth, both during their time at Campion and afterwards.

Matriculation marks the start of Semester 1, beginning with Mass, followed by the ceremony and a barbecue lunch for the new students, their friends and families, and the rest of Campion students and staff.

This year's ceremonies were further complicated by the construction of Campion's new Academic Centre, while Campion's kitchen is undergoing a complete refurbishment, in preparation for the Centre. As such, the barbecue was held outdoors, undercover this year, and the rain held off for the duration of the festivities.
